Windows-wise, I havent touch not LTSC in like 10 years or something. It looks fucking horrifying.
Not selling the actually good version of windows for getting stuff done, to normal people is one of the more fucked up things MS has done imo. .. So it **behooves** one to pirate it!

Linux Mint MATE for work over here, and macOS on my old Macbook Pro even though I'll never buy another Mac.
I got the Mac in 2011 because my then-boss insisted. It's quite good in terms of hardware but the locked-down configuration and lack of updates is annoying. The vendor lock-in is very real with Apple; Time Machine backups are almost impossible to access from a non-Mac for example. It's changing a bit now but 2011-2020 Macs got really hard to repair.
Linux Mint MATE is nice because it's basically Ubuntu without the stupid nonsense (like snapd and Gnome Shell stuff) and a classic computer desktop paradigm. I know how to use it and it gets out of my way.

Thank you for helping me discover this channel. What a short, sweet, and resonating little video. Windows 11's little "convenient" features add up to a garbage fire, but I'm too lazy and cautious to risk replacing it with another OS. You don't need Edge. You don't need not-Siri. You don't need the doom scrolling news ticker. You don't need to pay Adobe $100 a year when you can use GIMP or Kdenlive. And you shouldn't have to pay Microsoft $200 when their entire OS is already a spy package.
By the way, regarding that news feed. It's MSNBC, of course, and every article has its own comment section. This being a feature of Windows, every 72-year-old whose grandson just set up the machine can wander his mouse cursor over, click the headline, and slowly start typing. In other words, the comment sections are full of the laziest, most generic, and unoriginal opinions. Every political article has 3,200 people going on about the demonrats and the stolen election. Every article about a teacher arrested for having sex with her male student will have 1,200 different people posting, "I'm sure he was crying!" all the way down the page. Just absolutely insane, how everyone sounds exactly the same, with nothing profound to say. That, and the fact that you get to read about how nuclear war is imminent while working on a spreadsheet.
GIMP is a garbage fire.
So that's why every MSNBC article and clip is 99% FOX news talking points. I always wondered if it was think tank bots set to spam them and CNN.
