1:45 is a truly spectacular fail

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-06-27

I dunno man, the one starting at 2:22 ends up with the top of a multistage rocket(?) deciding that one thrust nozzle just wasn't enough, blows its top off, and becomes a two-ended rocket/piece of debris.

Also, I'm fond of the music.

kiint - 2008-06-27

yeah and is it hung up on some power lines at the end there after crashing, still spitting fire from both ends? is that what that fucking is cause holy shit I'm glad I don't live around there.

Big Beef Burritos Supreme - 2008-06-27

God, the fucking music. This was the 50s onwards, not the fucking late 1800s. And yes, I understand the irony; including the boring and unintentional irony of it being a Russian composer.

Repomancer - 2008-06-27

Edward Elgar (Pomp and Circumstance) was not Russian. As for the rest of it, yeah. It got pretty annoying switching semi-randomly between that, Flight of the Bumblebee, and whatever that other one is. A classical sountrack could have worked really well for this, if it were done better.

+5 for stuff blowing up, -1 for the halfhearted attempt at music.

Flight of the Bumblebee is Yakety Sax for avionics and rocketry. It wouldn't make sense to play it when nothing was going wrong!

I'm pretty sure rocket explosions should be accompanied by some form of metal. Perhaps the British composer Lemmy von Motörhead. Or even the famously face asploded American composer Dimebag Darrell Abbott.

My favorite part is when it blew up

Udderdude - 2008-06-27

Paid for by the U.S. Institute of Really Fucking Large Explosions.

Udderdude - 2008-06-27

Also, there are a few that don't explode. Obviously, this is a problem that needs to be rectified immediatly.

Menudo con queso - 2008-06-27

C'mon, the music got really old and irritating quick. Anybody know where the exploding rocket montage from The Right Stuff is?

mouser - 2008-06-27

-1 for (lack of) sexual overtone.

Wings of honnemaise has these same scenes loving rendered in great detail. That was one hell of a movie!
