Dupe.
Still a great video, though.

This is cute and all, but the premise doesn't make much sense. What would the aliens be made out of? Metal? Why are they so flabbergasted at how people speak if they're using the same method to speak in their meat disguise?

halon - 2009-03-01 I kind of assumed that the dialogue was just translated from mechanical whirrs or whatever for the benefit of the reader in the short story. I think you can probably make the same assumption here.

godot - 2009-03-01 The original short story here:

is pure dialogue musing on Fermi's Paradox, and this adaptation is a fairly judicious cut. The setting is film school possible (it was still 23k donated by family, as per usual), and I'm pretty sure Bill Baily took his character from Jesse Ventura's MIB in "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" (one of maybe two X-Files episodes worth seeking out by non-fans.

kelpfoot - 2009-03-01 Fuck yes Jose Chung's From Outer Space.
I even say this as a non-X-Files fan.

I loved this short story, and i loved this. The Cash Cab guy was pretty good, actually. He had sufficient disdain for meat. I love the end, though - with the various horrible meat sounds and activities as the normal people leave.

CAIN! Let's step outside!
Also, It's Ben Baily. Bill Baily's a bit more...British.
