I'm not understanding the guy in the hoodie, or the dice earrings. But I liked both. Sometimes you just need to see some stuff that makes zero sense that's presented with 100% sincerity.
Well, this was before the Unibomber ruined hoodies for everybody. You're probably too young to remember, but back then wearing a hoodie with the hood up was a non-verbal sign that you were having just a great time.
Two franchisees bought the chain in 1984 and they sold out to Inno-Pacific Holdings of Singapore in 1989. Most of the U. S. stores closed during the time Inno-Pacific owned the chain. Some of the remaining franchisees took Inno-Pacific to court in 2003. Before this could come to trial, Shakey's was sold to Jacmar Companies of Alhambra, California, in 2004. So now every remaining Shakey's is in California, with one in Seattle and Arizona.
Fascinating.
Nope, not at all. Trey & Matt did make up Whistlin' Pete's Pizza Party Boat after all the Shakey's closed in Colorado. Even the South Park boys miss Shakey's, with Kyle declaring "I wish we still had a Shakey's!" after Whistlin' Pete annoys the hell out of them in one ep. Shakey's is alive and well and thriving in California state, tho.
