I think there is a slight distinction between "I can kick your ass" and the wholesale murder and dismemberment depicted here that is not being addressed.
it's a movie based on a comic book about a guy who tries to be a super hero but has no powers or skills and basically gets the shit beat out of him for the majority of the first couple issues. There are also other crime fighters out there, like Hit Girl here, who fight crime with their own style. Mainly it's about how badly a person would get hurt if they tried to be a super hero in real life. Also, people who would choose to be super heroes would be completely insane. I have glanced through a couple of the issues, it's super violent but some of the writing is pretty good, I haven't actually sat down to read it though. I kind of like the fact that they've made The Punisher an 8 year old girl though.
That is the single greatest version of the Banana Splits Theme Song I've ever heard.
It’s been interesting seeing the reactions to this from around the web, from Reddit’s cautioned “Oh my monocle!’ types dicussing how bad it is for little girls (who shouldn’t be in a R-rated movie anyways) to AICN’s 1,500 page discussion on how pedo-tasitic is is.
Only young men, who have no murderous impulses, should be encouraged by entertainment to murder people. Once already-simmering little girls see a movie with a girl killing people the powder keg will go off.
