Well, at least he's not going out like a petulant child.
(For the record, I love this)

Xenocide - 2010-01-21
This scorched-earth style of quitting one's job intrigues me.
I hope in the last episode, Conan uses NBC's money to build a bridge, then burn it.

I wanna know how much rights to the Stones' song costs. Anyone?
|
jangbones - 2010-01-21 I do not, but I know a relevant anecdote.
When Microsoft was releasing Windows 95, they wanted to license the opening riff of "Start Me Up". The Stones never allowed their music in advertising, and they didn't want to do it, but they didn't want to just say no outright. So they offered Microsoft a ridiculous price for Start Me Up because they were sure Microsoft would turn it down.
Microsoft paid it.
That was a watershed music in the history of music licensing. My ex (who worked in the field) estimated that in five years, the average cost to license popular music for anything increased tenfold.
tl; dr licensing music costs a lot of fucking money

fatatty - 2010-01-21 As far as I can tell I will never agree with you on anything. I just wish you didn't have fart in my face every time it happened.

"Here's an expensive car! Ho ho ho!" -2 for completely fumbling a golden opportunity to smash the thing up with a sledgehammer.

|
ztc - 2010-01-21 "More joy in me" is now my favorite euphemism for 'drunk'.

Tuan Jim - 2010-01-21
Conan being a dick is best possible Conan

Cyberblah - 2010-01-21
They cut this from Hulu.

chumbucket - 2010-01-21
I was expecting a skit overwrought with pricey CGI...they went the easy route and just put a car on stage to music.
|
Cyberblah - 2010-01-21 CGI takes time. Conan is out in two days.
|
Robert DeNegro - 2010-01-21
I assure you, that car was not bought. Smash it up, and I'd believe them.

I stopped watching Conan like six years ago, around about the time that the string dance started, when the whole thing just felt really tired to me.
But the last two weeks I've made it a point to watch every episode. Spiteful Conan is the best Conan.

Meatsack Jones - 2010-01-21
5 stars just for the mental images of NBC executives frantically trying to find a way out of this week.
1,000 stars for cheeto beards one starring this in attempt to be "unamused" by anything popular.

Maggot Brain - 2010-01-21
NBC Universal made about nineteen billion dollars last year. It might be too late to say this but get to work, Conan. The graves of David Sarnoff, Thomas Edison, and Napoleon III aren't going exhume themselves.
|
SolRo - 2010-01-21
Conan should buy my 3.73 million dollar camry for the final episode.
|
La Loco - 2010-01-21
I know Jay likes expencisive cars, is he alluding that Jay Leno is a rat? Or am I trying to make this more interesting than it really is?
