Draw black faces.

Comatose2 - 2010-08-16

I hope the guy who stole my watermelon goes to hell.

cognitivedissonance - 2010-08-16

It never occurred to me that Sunday morning would be prime chicken theft time.

bac - 2010-08-16

I've seen worse.

Comeuppance - 2010-08-17

This was broadcast nationwide and intended for children.
On real TV.

It's amazing how much society changed in 30 years.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2010-08-17

It wasn't made for broadcast TV, though. It was made in 1936 for theatrical distribution, and back then, these cartoons were intended for adult audiences. It was later banned from broadcast/distribution in 1968.

I grew up watching cartoons that made fun of "the Japs" and so forth from WWII with slant-eyed characters saying "so solly" and other kinds of Engrish, so it's not surprising what wound up on TV when the goal was just to put up something animated so the ankle-biters could see ads for sugar-crusted cereal.

American Standard - 2010-08-17

One star for each bead of sweat that pops on an animation geek's forehead when they try to defend cartoons like this to unamused brown friends.

memedumpster - 2010-08-17

I want my list of crimes read by the Devil to be exactly the same as this man's.

twinkieafternoon - 2010-08-17

Shuckin’ and jivin’ young-bloods, slope-shouldered hat-tipping old man, big kitchen woman, possibly retarded inarticulate crap-shooting thief, shoe-shining father, overbearing church-going mother who means well, criminal who finds Jesus.

Preybyemail - 2010-08-17

Funny how an hour of B.E.T. will net you the same list of stereotypes.

You've come a long way baby!

Ghoul - 2010-08-17

Prey, have you actually watched BET? I took the time to do just that for the last few months, and you are completely incorrect in every possible way. Furthermore (and this may come as a shock to you), this network "for black people" manages to cater to the "African-American" market while portraying "European-American" people in a positive light.

Shocking... I know! Now run back to your tea party and break the news to them.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-08-17

Preybyemail is a fan of The Boondocks, I see

shipe - 2010-08-17

How many locations does Mamy's Barbeque Pit have?

Chalkdust - 2010-08-17

it's okay to laugh at this, because we elected a black man as President

pineapplejuicer - 2010-08-17

stahs be movin'!

BHWW - 2010-08-17

I'm pretty sure there's been some threads on the forums of sites like CartoonBrew or whichever where some gnome-like animation nerd demands to know why this unappreciated classic hasn't been collected for a deluxe DVD with a ton of extras.

The sad part is that i wish that America was still like this. Too bad that we have changed. :-( I Think that the niggers where actually alot happier when they lived like this, in there own little communities, where they could go to church etc.. Why can't it be like this again?

TeenerTot - 2010-08-17

:O

TeenerTot - 2010-08-17

If shooting craps and raising the dickens is enough to send you to hell, I can't imagine what's in store for me.

The God of Biscuits - 2010-08-17

I hear Judge Jailem was being considered for Justice John Paul Steven's chair in the Supreme Court.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-08-17

John K laments the fact that cartoons like this are no longer made.

joelkazoo - 2010-12-30

The white palms, good Lord, the white palms!

The Mothership - 2013-05-05

Not to mention the shoe-polished black baby heads. Seriously.
