I'm likin' this series. And I have a feeling it might be more effective than the "It Gets Better" series at cheering up gay kids.
I'm not liking it so much. I don't get the association between homophobia and failure in life. Okay, so he lost a job because he called a woman a fat dyke to her face - but what does any of this other stuff have to do with homophobia or bullying?
Homophobia and bullying aren't limited to untalented asshats who shoplift, have unwanted pregnancies and work crappy jobs. One doesn't necessarily lead to the other. It's missing the point, while trivializing the actual problem.
It's not trivializing the problem at all. It's illustrating (in a funny way) how homophobia indicates a dysfunction in the bigot, not in the gay person.
You're right that there's no necessary connection between homophobia & these failed rejects. But it's doing what humour often does; exaggerating or overstating things in order to illustrate deeper truths. In this case, it's exaggerating a known type (the homophobic jock) in order to illustrate the deeper truth that homophobes are trash.

Which truths do you think this video illustrates? That you shouldn't worry because the homophobic pricks who torment you daily will all fail at life? How does it actually illustrate that, and how is that even the case anyway?
Bullies aren't all dumb jocks who peak in high school. Being homophobic doesn't cause bad luck later in life. It isn't that simple, and pretending it is is either ignorant or dismissive - take your pick.
Some logic at all would help, is my point.

I love when people in real life reminisce about their "glory days" in high school, I'm ten years after graduation and my life is 100x cooler than it was in high school. Those people peaked too soon and you can see it in their blank, dead stares ten years later. :P
