It's "Call me Ishmael," you knucklehead.

Much more revealing than the "book/bar" freudian slip was the follow-on "War and Peace/Best of times,Worst of Times" slip. How perfect is that? Also, bonus star for everyone laughing at Michael Steele when he mentions War and Peace. Like anyone believes he's read the book, or anyone else in the room has.

These fuckers will laugh at any thing.
"She thought he asked about her favorite BAR! lololololol"
Somebody shoot these fuckers and put all of us out of our misery.

I would've burst out laughing when the first guy said Reagan Diaries personally.

To Kill a Mockingbird is a fantastic answer, but I find myself doubting her just because of the company she's sharing the stage with.
|
Spoonybard - 2011-01-07 Oh shit, "with whom she's sharing the stage"

Oh can't they all just be the new head of the RNC? We need something to replace the Bush comedy vacuum.

"Best of times" is gold, but I personally love "my favorite bar is my kitchen table," because this conjures an image of a sad woman sitting at her table with a bottle while her family sleeps.

0:42—does one of them say that "the law" is their favorite book? Am I hearing that right? I'm not sure he understood the question.
|
dystopianfuturetoday - 2011-01-07 Looked it up on Amazon. 'The Law' appears to an ancient tome of right wing economic scripture.

Never forget Mitt Romney's favorite book: Battlefield Earth
|
revdrew - 2011-01-07
Honest shocked no one said "The Bible."
I thought that was the default answer for these guys,
|
Lurchi - 2011-01-07 I assumed they had to make a rule that the real question was "What is your second favorite book?"

What did he say? Regan's book? Alright then, George W.'s book. Now the next guy has to say "Nixon's book", right?

My favorite book is the Unabridged Dictionary by Merriam Webster -- almost all the words in all the books in the English language can be found in that book, and when you read it, it's like you've read every book in the world. You might say, "wait a minute, what about non-English books?" Well, the good ones among those will be translated to English some day, and they will be using the same words as you've read in the Dictionary. So you will have read those books before they're even translated! And the not so good ones, you're better off not wasting your time on those.
