It's a variety show, not a game show. The kind of show we haven't had in America for 40+ years like Ed Sullivan. Still very popular in Japan. I can pretty much guarantee that any clip purporting to be a Japanese game show is probably actually a variety show. If there is a crowd of pretty girls standing around ooh-ing and ah-ing, or a couple of goofy looking dudes cracking wise while they watch, it's a variety show. Please stop calling them game shows. It make my inner aspie get all cranky.

Now that I think about it, they also still have Vaudevillian-stile comedy duos over there too.
